Survey, Feasibility and Preliminary Design Meeting
The first stage is your wish to do something with the undesirable space below your main living accommodation. You may be quite clear on what you want to achieve, or like some people, you may just want to do “something” with it.
We have a wealth of experience at Elite Basements and can offer solutions and suggestions to compliment your own ideas.
Our initial visit will involve a discussion and information gathering, which will influence the design concept to meet your requirements.
We will draw a detailed plan of your basement taking note of existing electrical, gas and plumbing installations which may require alteration, along with any structural alterations or window and door openings required.
Once we know the proposed layout we will consider the structural waterproofing design which has to conform to B.S.8102: 2009. This stage of the process is imperative – if the design and installation of the waterproofing system is unsuitable for the purpose it is intended i.e. to maintain a dry environment, then the rest of the project becomes a failure.
Once we have all relevant information we will go back to the office and produce an estimate of cost and full specification of works along with a payment schedule tailored to your project.

Design Progress Meeting
The meeting provides an opportunity to consolidate and confirm ideas. You may wish to amend the design at this stage.
During our second visit we will discuss in more detail the specification aiming to cover every aspect of the construction process. This will include the relevant building regulations applicable to your project and how we achieve them for you.
Your basement can be anything you want – we can help you achieve your dream conversion.
The Next Step
